Ayurveda
There are different techniques to
to focus the attention, as a meditation practice
It can be through sight through sound, but today we are going to learn a very simple technique we are going to focus our attention simply on the breath and for this we are going to sit comfortably, let's close our eyes, closing our eyes helps us to bring the tension inside, sight is a sense that is continuously capturing a lot of information from our environment
y when we close our eyes, because we give ourselves the opportunity to rest and to look, observe what is going on inside us
For this meditation practice no effort is required, we are simply going to let go, our center of attention is going to be the breath
We close our eyes and we quietly observe the breathing
We introduce three fundamental questions, questions of the soul that will help us in this process of self-knowledge and expansion of the consciousness
And these are the questions: Who am I? Who am I? What do I desire? What do I really want? What is my life purpose, how can I help? What is my purpose, my dharma? How can I serve? And we let go of these questions and continue to observe the breath, without forcing, with naivety and without waiting no result, if we expect any result we treat it as another thought
We just let it go
and we turn our attention to breathing
After a while, the mind may tend to become distracted in thoughts, in the sounds of the environment, in bodily temptations
Whenever you notice your mind wandering, lovingly and without judgment return your attention to the breath
Observe how it fluctuates, observe each inhalation, each inhalation, each inhalation, each inhalation, each inhalation, each inhalation
exhalation
You can observe the breath in your body, perhaps in the chest area, feel how when you inhale your chest expands and when you exhale it gently contracts back to its place
Inhale and exhale
gently without forcing and by the following five minutes, let's keep the attention focused on the breath over and over again
Remember, every time you notice your mind scattered
lovingly and non-judgmentally return your attention to the breath
We continue with the next five minutes observing the breath
this is our meditation practice today
Now, withdraw the attention from your breathing
Continue to for a couple of minutes more with your eyes closed, just watching, resting in your being, resting in consciousness, Satchitananda
And little by little as you feel, you can open your eyes and getting back to the business of the day
Remember meditate every day
It is recommended to meditate twice a day, For twenty minutes each time
At sunrise, is an ideal time to practice meditation because the conditions of the morning, of the awakening of the day, favors our meditation practice
And at sunset again before having dinner, we can do our second meditation practice
meditation practice for the day, allowing us to release the tension, the accumulated stress of the day
and to prepare ourselves progressively for a deep rest at night
Thank you
Namaste
