Good digestion is essential for health

When we think about the process of nourishing ourselves, of feeding ourselves, there are a series of steps involved, which thus help the quality of digestion and the absorption of food, in our organism

So today, we are going to know some of the steps involved

and that are going to help us to promote a strong digestion and a good assimilation of the nutrients that are found in food

Do not eat unless you are hungry, it is essential respect your appetite

Start thinking of your appetite as a needle, like a needle of appetite, at which, one is completely starving, and number ten, you're completely full, then let's imagine that between two and three, it's a state of hunger well, in that you already feel a

a desire, a need enough to eat without becoming excessively hungry

And then, number seven, is when you've had enough to eat and you're satisfied, so, that's the reference we're going to have, eat between two and three when we're hungry, and stop eating when we are satisfied at seven

Many times, we get distracted and do other activities while we eat, and no, we don't listen to the body, we don't listen when we are satisfied and we overload our system and generate toxicity

It is important to leave a little bit of space in the organism, to allow the digestive process

The nature is infinite wisdom, it has accommodated in the foods the sources of nutrition, one or more of the six tastes

We must be conscious, to include in each of our meals throughout the day, the six flavors, to make sure that, all nutrients are present in our diet and also to feel satisfied, many times it happens to us that we eat a lot of some flavor but we forget another flavor and we have this feeling at the end of the meal, that although we have eaten a lot we are not completely satisfied

So in order to feel satisfied, it's important to include the six tastes in each meal, and also to make sure that we have a complete diet and nutrients

I remind you of the six flavors: sweet, bitter, sour, acid, astringent spicy and salty

Eat to balance body and mind

Remember, eat a diet that favors your predominant dosha

And here the cardinal rule is: more of the same increases and the same decreases

If we think in vata, do you remember what are the most nutritious flavors for vata? Sweet, acid and salty

If we think of pitta, the tastes that pitta should potentiate, the most nutritious for pitta, are : sweet, salty and astringent

And when we think of vata, the flavors that vata should be potentiated to activate are: spicy, bitter and astringent

Always remember to include the six flavors but, use in greater quantity, those who are more favorable according to to your constitution and to decrease, follow closely those that aggravate your body-mind constitution

Include a variety of foods and colors in your diet

A very effective resource is to put a very colorful diet, a fun and recursive way to do it, is to use the colors of the rainbow

The strong pigments in the plants are dense in vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients

Include herbs and spices in our power supply, is very beneficial for our health

The tips that we share here, are not intended to treat any problem specific to digestion, but if they can help you to maintain a good state of digestion

To whet the appetite, when we have little appetite, is recommended, to take before eating, before taking the meal, approximately fifteen minutes before, a slice of ginger with lemon, with a few drops of lemon

Because ginger, has this ability to ignite our appetite, and to help release those toxins that, are preventing our desire to eat, our appetite

To reduce gas and bloating, it is recommended to cook with bay leaf, also include cinnamon, and after the meals, is very healthy and very calming for our system, chew some fennel seeds

We can put them in a container with hot water, such as if we were to make an infusion, so that it allows that the seeds to open up and show a little bit of its qualities

and at the same time for our organism as well, provide that facility to absorb, the quality that it has to calm the swelling, to calm the gases

Avoid eating when you are angry, when we are angry, upset or when we have had a fight, we should wait a little bit before taking food, because, in that state, in that mental state, because also our physical body is contracted, our stomach is contracted, let's say is not in an optimal condition to absorb the food, rather even if we put food, we are going to feel like a rejection of the body so that food, that's why it's recommended not to eat when we are angry, or when we have had a fight, but rather wait, to what we are relaxed, that our body and mind are open again to receive, to welcome those foods

Always sit down to eat

Eat while driving, does not count

The fundamental intention is to pay attention to the act of eating, that all your attention be focused on the act of eating and not on other activities at the same time while eating

Reduce cold drinks Or cold foods

Our system is designed to evolved to eat foods that are relatively at the same temperature as the organism, or slightly warmer

In general, avoid eating very hot foods or very cold, because it is considered that very cold or very hot food clouds your palate and also add toxicity to the organism

Eat at a leisurely pace, be aware of the process, of the process of eating, of the flavors, of the textures

Pay full attention while eating, enjoy even visually of the meal

Before taking the next meal, make sure, that you have completely digested the previous meal

This will allow you to create the space necessary in your organism to assimilate the new food and it's going to help in the digestion process

How do we know that we have completely digested? Well, we no longer know we repeat the meal, we have no more taste of the previous meal, and we are really looking forward to the next meal

Avoid eating reheated food, food that has been in the refrigerator for many days

The best time to consume food is when it's freshly prepared, because all the nutrients are boiling and we are going to eat it

consequently to bring more nutrients to our organism

It favors fruits, vegetables, grains, almonds and organic dairy products

After each meal allow yourself to be about five minutes sitting, observing a little bit the process of digestion, how it is going settling the food in the organism, give yourself that time, that opportunity to remain, even when you've finished eating, attentive to the digestion process for at least five minutes

And it is also highly recommended, after meals, take a short walk, go for a walk between ten and fifteen minutes, because this movement, it favors, well, it's the digestion process

By way of conclusion, review these tips every day, before taking your meals

Observe which of them are given to you in a spontaneous way, in an easier way to put into practice and which ones of them you have more resistance, because those are the ones that you probably need to work on the most
