The combination of the Fire and Water elements gives rise to the Pitta transformation principle. Pitta resembles the qualities of fire: hot, intense, penetrating, acid, spicy, sharp, luminous. Pita is responsible for all types of digestion. Within the body the fire principle metabolizes all our experiences, in such a way that we can absorb what is nutritious and eliminate what is not. Pitas are precise and articulate in their speech and often make good speakers. They have strong opinions and they like debate.
