03 Why meditate?

Description     More info

Meditation helps us get in touch with the more subtle aspects of our being. It is a practice that allows us to observe our thoughts and how our body is. There are many reasons why it is very positive to incorporate meditation into your daily life. Practicing meditation in the morning will help you be more alert throughout the day and make better decisions. When the mind is clear, the corresponding body works better.

Meditation, helps us to get in touch with the more subtle aspects of our being

It is a practice, that allows us to observe our thoughts, to observe our emotions, to observe how our body is

It's a journey from activity to excellence

Progressively in the practice of meditation, we are releasing tension, accumulated stress, to go so that's it, connecting with more subtle aspects of our being, with a space of our mind, which is calmer, reflective, alert

There are many reasons why to meditate, it can be that you are looking to cultivate more peace in your life, release tension or accumulated stress, it may be that you are looking to improve your relationships, Or have a healthier lifestyle, more relaxed, calmer

During the practice of meditation we can have different experiences

Today I am going to tell you about four experiences that are completely natural during the practice of meditation

meditation

The first one is to have thoughts

The natural expression of a conscious mind is to have thoughts, so, also during meditation you will experience thoughts, only, you're going to center your attention on a single thought, that can, be the breath, the mantra or the object of attention of your choice, but still, you're going to have thoughts simply what we do is, we let them go

and we turn our attention to the element that we have chosen

Another experience during meditation can be the repetition of the mantra

When we choose a mantra to focus our attention, as it can be the mantra Soham, what we do is that we are continuously repeating the mantra every time we feel our mind scattered in some thought we turn our attention to the mantra

Then the very repetition of the mantra, is another experience that we have during meditation

It may be that the repetition of the mantra, fluctuates, becomes slower, faster can sometimes appear like a visual image, see what's replaying in your mind

This is all part of your meditation practice

Another of the experiences of meditation, is to fall asleep, when we have excess of accumulated stress, tiredness, fatigue and we give the body and mind the opportunity to relax

It may take a little deeper rest and fall into sleep, when this happens, and you wake up, if you have time, continue with your meditation and if the time you have set aside for meditation is over, then you reduce, you lock up your meditation and go back to the activity of the day

And the fourth experience that we can have during meditation, is the experience of consciousness itself

Between thought and thought, there is a space and that space, is consciousness, is space in which we access our being to that part of ourselves that we could say that it is not conditioned but simply it is not conditioned, the time is not underwritten neither to the space, nor to the causality

In this space of full consciousness, there is no mantra no thought only, we only know that we have been there And when our mind recovers its activity and we perceive that we have lost a little notion of time, we don't know for how long it has happened, exactly what has happened, but we have been in that full state of consciousness and deep rest that has properties healing, properties that really help to regenerate our body, our mind because they allow us access to a break

Now you know some of the experiences that you can have during meditation that are completely normal, that are part of your meditation practice So I encourage you to continue meditating
