Mindfulness refers to practices that train us to focus our attention on the present moment.
A method to help us to live fully the experience of the "here and now", accepting it without trying to change or judge anything. Its meaning is full awareness. Concentrating on what is happening in and around us, distancing ourselves from noise and distractions.
Showering is a pleasure with obvious benefits for our health, but if you add awareness and meditation guidelines to this daily gesture, the shower will be your greatest anti-stress ally and your spa moment of the day. Water is a natural emotional vehicle that helps us relax, loosen every muscle, the mind and takes away everything that disturbs us, all mental noise. Turning it into a ritual is both a challenge and something very easy because we shower every day and it is available to everyone, but transforming automated customs into conscious habits makes the difference, the key is in the intention. Our mindfulness expert will explain how you should proceed to enjoy a conscious shower, so that you enter the correct state from the first moment.
Today I am going to show you the steps to follow so that you can perform a mindfulness exercise in your next shower
mindfulness
The shower is a very relaxing and sensitive moment
but we usually pass it unnoticed with our radiomental connected
It's a great time to inhabit our body, to be aware of what is happening and above all enjoy it
The shower will be a powerful practice to avoid getting carried away by your mental torrent
and also avoid doing things on autopilot
Usually when we take a shower our mind is anywhere else but in the shower
If our body went where our mind is, we could appear naked and full of soap with the sponge
hand, standing in line at the bank, at school, at work or at the supermarket
So in your next shower every time you realize you're thinking about something else, focus on the sensations of the shower, the water, the scent of the soap you use, the temperature, the texture of the sponge, the sensations you have when rubbing each part of your body
Take the shower as if it were the last one you are going to take, totally concentrated in that moment and savoring every moment
Feel how the water falls on your head, how it combs your hair
Look at the drops on the screen or curtain
Listen carefully to the sound of falling water
Observe the light at that moment
Attentive to your body
Inhabit your body
Silence your mind
Breathe calmly, paying attention to how the air enters and leaves your body, to its temperature, its moisture, as it fills your breast, how it opens your ribs, how you expand and contract again and again
Every time your mind gets distracted and that mental radio comes on, turn it off
and go back to what you are doing
When you realize this don't get angry, feel happy that you realized this and continue to pay attention to the physical sensations
Little by little and with practice you will increase the time of conscious showering and you will notice its benefits in your day by day
That's all for today, I wish with all my heart that in your next shower you manage to at least feel connected
with the now, for a minute
That's quite a lot for the first time, believe me
Until the next episode, happy present moment
