Today we will explain what thoughts are, how they affect us and how we can modify our thought process. An exercise in self-observation of thoughts that will surprise you by the immediate effects it will have on you.

Our thoughts are nothing more than electrical impulses that transmit information from our environment

They are conditioned by our experiences, our education, our culture and above all our perception

We perceive something through our senses, we interpret it and translate it into data

We store them and when something is related to one of its memorized data, we retrieve them to give logic to what we are living or feeling

Thoughts are products of our mind, always eager to give a rational explanation to anything that happens

The problem appears when our thoughts direct our daily life and we are not able to silence them

Your thoughts are not reality, they are just an interpretation that your mind has given to things

That is why we must be open to receive new points of view and be creative when facing our problems

It could be said that our way of thinking creates, groups and chooses, the latter is extremely important, since you must know that you always have the power to select what things you want to think

Today's exercise will be different from the other days because you will be the protagonist

Look for a comfortable, quiet place where you will not have distractions

Sit down and if possible do nothing

I want you to remain motionless for a little while

and dedicate yourself only to observe your thoughts

Do not feel bad when they appear, do not judge them, just let them flow and give them free rein, let them go where they want

As you can see he has been aware of the amount of thoughts that appear in your mind during one minute

In our day to day life we have an extensive internal dialogue and sometimes it is not very aligned with our desires

we may be self-sabotaging ourselves with negative thoughts or focusing too much on the past

or the future

I hope that during today's exercise you have become aware of how we work and in this way you get to learn to stop your mind and pause when you feel that a particular thought does not favor you

As you progress through this course you will discover more and more how to live with mindfulness and you will be able to better manage your thoughts
