In recent decades, advances in medicine and pharmacology have made it possible to prolong survival, witnessing an increase in the prevalence of chronic diseases. A person in this phase requires specific and special attention. We know that conventional medicine, focused on disease and biology, focuses on "cure" but does not offer an adequate response to needs, referring to all physical, social, emotional and spiritual aspects. Palliative treatment is the response to incurability and is based on continued support until the last moment of life.
