For Osho the innocence of the child is the stage closest to meditation. The child is completely surrounded by the mysterious and is in the same stage that the mystic enjoys. The problem is that when we grow up, the education and conditioning we receive make us lose it. The word "meditation" comes from the same root as the word "medicine" and its function is to empty us and help us return to that original state.
