In volume 11 of The Osho Collection the contemporary mystic shares an invaluable reflection on one of the feelings that causes us the most suffering: jealousy. According to Osho: In one dimension you may be talented, in another dimension someone else may be more talented. That simply shows that people are incomparable. I never thought of anyone as inferior; I never thought of anyone as superior to me. I am myself, you are yourself. Comparison does not arise. However, all children have been forced to compete, to compare themselves, and naturally jealousy arises, because somebody is successful and you are not successful. Someone gets the things you don't get. I heard that: a Baptist priest and a rabbi lived across the road from each other, and there was always a great competition between them. Naturally, this is a two thousand year conflict; it started with Jesus and I don't know who it will end with. I hope it will end with the Polish Pope. But, it is only a hope; one cannot be sure of it. For two thousand years they have been in conflict and it has become more and more personal. If the priest brought some roses or other plants for his garden, immediately the rabbi brought twice as many. One year it happened that the Baptist priest bought a Lincoln Continental. That was too much for the rabbi. And just as he was standing on his porch, the priest came out and poured water on the Lincoln Continental. The rabbi asked him,
