The Neti Pot is a form of nasal wash therapy with a saline solution. In this chapter, you will learn how to create your own saline solution with tips on which ingredients to use and in what proportions. In addition, you will enjoy a practical example of the use of the Neti Pot.
"Nati" and "Nasya", is a method that we can include as part of our daily routine
It helps us to keep the respiratory channels clean and hydrated
Like the massage nourishes, purifies and hydrates our skin, this procedure will help us therefore, to revitalize the channels eespiratory and to reduce allergies, upper respiratory transit diseases
It is useful, especially, in the transition seasons, during the autumn and a little bit into the winter, that we tend to get colds and diseases of this type, and also in the spring, that we usually suffer from allergies
To have clean and hydrated respiratory channels, reduces the risk of contracting this type of disease
For this procedure we will need a little ceramic jar with a spout, and here inside, we are going to put hot water, with a little bit of salt
In the herbalists we can find a salt that is specific, to do this kind of cleansing, but if not at home we can use whatever salt
that has not been processed, that is as natural as possible
For this process it would also work any kettle that we have at home, that is similar to this one and that allows us to drain the water
We must use water that is pure enough, the same water that we drink
Well, we're going to heat up the oil a little bit, because the second part of this procedure, is to moisturize with oil the nasal passages, so we can use any oil that we want to use
natural, in this case, we have chosen coconut oil, but it can be olive oil or almond oil, any natural oil that we have at home, so that it helps us to moisturize
So we already have the warm oil, we're going to put it in a container
and we're going to put it over here
On the other hand, we have the water already warm as well, and we're going to deposit it here, in the "Neti pot", we're going to add a pinch of salt
enough and let's wait a few seconds for the salt to settle, mix gently, without spilling the liquid
Then, we already have the elements that we are going to use, which are the "Neti"
with the water, with a little bit of salt for the cleaning
and then to moisturize then we are going to use a little bit of natural oil, in this occasion from coconut, to moisturize the nostrils
Well now we are going to continue in a practical way, with the procedure
and this time we are going to use a pot, but at home, comfortably, you can do it in the sink, in the bathroom
So, so what we're going to do, is we're going to put this pot on a nostril, now I'm going to do it, and as we place, so we turn our head to the other side, because we want the water to flow
from one nostril to the other, allowing that communication, that flow
I can do it here, just a little while
We can expel, sorry, the water that's left over as a residue
And we prepare to do it on the other side
We do the same procedure on the other side, we turn our head a little bit to the side
opposite and with a napkin or directly in the sink, remove excess water, excess liquid in the nostrils
And now we're going to hydrate them, then, we are going to use a little bit of the oil that we have previously heated, and we're going to use our little finger, to inhale with a nostril, with one of our nostrils, the oil
And well
And then we go to the other side
Now it feels much more hydrated and much cooler, breathing better
And well, as we said at the beginning, this is a procedure that we can include as part of the our daily routine to keep our airways clean and hydrated
and especially to use it in the transition seasons, in the fall and spring, to reduce allergies and diseases of the upper respiratory tract
Thank you
