The figure of Judas, although apparently simple, has caused many doubts among researchers. There are some researchers who affirm that the entire figure of Judas is not historical because there are contradictions in it. A historian can affirm that the figure of Judas is in itself completely plausible although there are details that may not be historical. We must keep in mind that there was a traitor. According to the Gospel of Matthew, Judas repents, throws the coins on the ground and hangs himself. But according to the acts of the apostles Judas throws himself down a mountain. Which of the two versions is true? We cannot know. What we do know is that, in ancient times, if someone committed a sin and committed suicide they redeemed the sin but for the Jews it was not like that, for them suicide condemns you to eternal fire.
