The Jesus who describes the Gospel of Thomas is a Gnostic Jesus, therefore, he is steeped in the Gnostic philosophy of the second century. Professor Antonio Piñero does not consider the Jesus of the Gospel of Thomas more authentic than that of the canonical Gospels
