The three types of faith

Description

This chapter deals with the threefold classification of 艢raddha虆 on the basis of the modes of nature or Gunas: Sattva (implying qualities of goodness, knowledge, purity), Rajas (passion, ambition, activity) and Tamas (ignorance, dullness, suffering). 艢raddha虆 is usually translated as "faith", although the full Sanskrit meaning of the word refers to something else. 艢raddha虆 is the attitude towards life (towards the body, towards people, food, charity, disciplines, wealth...), it is our understanding and structure of values and priorities in life.
