When Jonathan Brookins was named the Ultimate Fighter after winning the 12th season finale of the UFC, he was about to face a much tougher opponent outside the octagon: himself. Under pressure, Brookins became addicted to drugs and alcohol and developed an eating disorder.
Determined to change his life, he left the UFC and traveled to India to practice yoga and embark on a journey of physical, mental, and spiritual transformation. “My body told me to shape up now or I’m not going to last much longer,” he said. Once in India, Jonathan was alone and ready to face the truth: “The problem with running away is that you always end up facing yourself. My addictions won’t disappear just because I’m in India.” With that, Jonathan began a slow journey to cleanse his body and mind. A Fighter’s Journey is an inspiring story of courage, showing that facing yourself can be the hardest challenge, but also the most transformative.
