Renouncing does not mean being easy-going or letting go. To renounce is to accept the things that cannot be changed with a good attitude: it is to keep the mind calm and not let it go crazy with thoughts. The important thing is to keep the mind calm, not to let the outside disturb the inside. That's what detachment means.... Happiness is not a ready-made thing. It comes from your own action.
