How much do you really know about the origins of Christianity? Many people still think that the Gospels were written by the people whose names adorn the books. Many people still think that these people were eyewitnesses of Jesus. Many people do not realize how much Paul of Tarsus reinvented early Christianity to fit his own vision, and the tension he created with the original disciples. In the last century, New Testament scholars have examined the text word for word to separate the true story from the accepted tradition. In this lighthearted but fact-based film, the "true" story of early Christianity is told with the help of twelve biblical scholars, Renaissance masterpieces and humorous animation. It is neither a film about faith nor a film attacking or mocking Christianity. It is an honest attempt to reconstruct a very complex and fascinating story that everyone will enjoy.
