Martha Tena - Jap Inder

About 16 years ago Yoga found me, by chance... Training in Hatha Yoga, I also practiced Kundalini and Iyengar. For the last eight years I have been sharing my practice with groups. I worked 12 years as a Social Worker in community projects, bringing the techniques of Yoga, dance and doula (accompaniment in gestation, childbirth and postpartum) to the service of personal and social difficulties.

I lived one year in India, experimenting with teachers and masters of different branches. There I also trained in Hawaiian massage and was initiated in Deeksha, a meditative healing technique. At the same time my passion for dance grew. With Oriental Dance I felt that I remembered it... I trained professionally with the international dancer Morgana, in Oriental and Tribal Fusion. And with other dancers like Sharon Kihara, and Melanie Swisher. I currently dance in Morgana's company Excalibur Dance Co.

Over the years, I have gone through different styles: Kathak with master Fasih Ur Rehman, Zíngaras, Buthó, flamenco, Funky, Persian dance... and Contact Improvisation, with Martin Keogh, Cristiane Boullosa, Itai Yatuv, Daniela Schwartz and Eckhard Muller... I was initiated in the dervish twist with the Sufi master Shaykh Ahmed Dede and with Mayid Javadi, and today I continue to deepen in the simplicity and peace that this sacred dance offers.

Following a knee injury, Yoga and dance began to merge in my personal practice. I trained for a few years with Sara Avtar Kaur (England) in Shakti Dance, a discipline that integrates Kundalini Yoga with the harmonic movement of dance.

Currently I develop my personal project YOGA DANZA DOULA and as one of its branches I teach workshops of Hatha Yoga and organic movement, and Yoga Shakti Dance. She has had the pleasure of working in Madrid, Barcelona, Girona, Menorca, Lanzarote, Sardinia, Amsterdam, Mexico...
