From Conscious TV we would like to offer you the possibility to get to know yourself a little better, by taking this simple test. You can keep an optimal state of health by identifying your dosha type and with a lifestyle suited to your unique and extraordinary nature.

This test to know your dosha will give you a breakdown of the proportion in which you have each of the three dosha's depicted, so you can learn more about the dominant element, how to stay balanced and how to adjust your lifestyle for mental, physical and spiritual improvement.

What are the four doshas?

The three doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) are defined by the predominance of one pair of elements, as we saw in another article. Each dosha expresses unique blends of physical, emotional and mental characteristics. In Ayurveda, health is understood as a permanently changing and dynamic state, seeking balance between mind, body and spirit.

The Doshas are derived from a combination of the five elements:

  • The combination of the elements Space and Air gives rise to the Vata principle of movement.  Vata presents the qualities of wind: cold, dry, rough, light, changeable, moving, rough, subtle.
  • The combination of the elements Fire and Water gives rise to the Pitta principle of transformation. Pitta presents the qualities of fire: hot, intense, penetrating, sour, pungent, pungent, sharp.
  • The combination of the elements Water and Earth gives rise to the protective principle Kapha. Kapha presents the qualities of earth: cold, solid, fluid, slow, heavy, stable.

Each of us has an inherent tendency towards one or more of these principles, which explains why we each respond so differently to the same stimuli.

We are all born with our particular balance of doshas, which corresponds to our "body-mind" constitution and remains unchanged throughout life. The predominant dosha or doshas determine our physical, mental and emotional tendencies and our predisposition to certain health problems. Our Prakruti constitution is determined at the moment of conception.

When our doshas are balanced we maintain health and well-being, when they are out of balance we tend to become ill.

                                             Take the DOSHA TEST now!

The Dosha Test gathers information about your basic nature. Because of your physical characteristics, the dosha has been a part of you for most of your life. If you have developed an illness, think about what your body was like before it. (If you hesitate between two characteristics, choose the one that best represents you).

For some physical traits, you can be quite objective. However, for traits related to the mind and behavioural patterns, we tend to be more subjective. You have to answer honestly, according to the way you have felt and acted in recent years.
