From birth, the human being is pushed to place barriers on a physical, emotional and sexual level within his own life. Parents and society establish guidelines and models of behavior that limit and confine us.
Tantra, in general terms, teaches you, on a practical and not just mental level, to experience the expansion of consciousness and recognize the interconnectivity that you have with existence, thus freeing you from anchors and blocks. In this way, what many religious practices seek is developed: to be ONE with yourself and with the whole universe through focusing your consciousness on your own being through different tools. Tantra recognizes the human being as a divinity in himself.
Until 2 years ago it was believed that Dravidian Tantra had an origin of more than 5,000 years. A new archaeological find in India has re-established the birth of the Dravidian culture more than 8 thousand years ago. We can therefore say that Tantra as a pagan practice and philosophy of faith is generated at that time and in that culture.
Types of tantra
Tantra in its use and practice focuses on three energy levels: Physical; Mental and Sexual or Sacred. The various philosophical and religious schools choose to focus more on one energetic sense than another, speaking about:
- White or right hand Tantra: it focuses on the physical and mental energy aspect, leaving the sacred sexuality parked to a mystical process and interconnection with the divine.
- Red or left hand Tantra: it refers to working with the sacred sexual energy in order to achieve interconnection with spirituality and with the divine within you.
Either trend will allow you to reach a heightened state of consciousness and transform your being and most importantly, your life.
The way to get there will have shorter or much more complex paths in each of its aspects. The intentionality of the practice will vary, as will the objectives and the way to achieve these states of mind.
Tantra is a way of becoming aware of oneself, of using desire as a starter, a pleasant way of traveling towards oneself, of gaining presence and using that presence to relate to others and to live in a more authentic way , more innocent, more vital and a little less rational.
Tantra is love, presence and authenticity at every moment. The ultimate goal is to merge with the other in the sense that love becomes such, that the other disappears in you and you in the other. When this happens, the 2 that are 1 merge with all creation and then the Universe disappears and the Creator appears. This is the true tantric orgasm.
